Buzzhead Republic is a one man band hailing from Colorado. Matt Shaffer (the one man) has spent most of his life living in diverse surroundings. With snowcapped mountains to the west, plains on the east, and desert to the south, it is easy to understand the impact they have had in developing his unique sound. Colorado Springs is a major military city which has people from all over America coming and going rarely staying for very long before being re-stationed elsewhere. This constant change-over has kept Colorado aware, even before the Internet, of musical developments elsewhere, integrating it into its own sound. This has probably helped in making Buzzhead Republic sound like everything and nothing all at the same time.
Buzzhead Republic has recorded fourteen albums to date (13 released), including two soundtracks to plays. Matt Shaffer has also done some voice acting, and worked on studio remixes for Nine Inch Nails (which did not, as far as he can tell, get released).
